Import & Export

Your data is yours. Export everything at any time in standard formats. Import data from spreadsheets or restore from a previous export.

Export

Exporting is free and unlimited. Download your data whenever you want.

Full Account Export

Download a ZIP file containing CSV files with all your data - collections, tags, assets, debts, values, and cash flows. Use this for backups, migrating to a new account, or analyzing your data in spreadsheet software.

Single Asset Export

Export data from individual assets or debts in CSV or JSON format:

  • Values - Date, value, and currency for each recorded snapshot
  • Cash Flows - Date, type, value, currency, and label for each transaction
  • Analytics - All calculated metrics including profit/loss, returns, and performance data

Choose CSV for spreadsheet compatibility or JSON for programmatic use. Analytics export gives you access to all the calculated data NetFiscus generates from your entries.

Import

Import data from CSV files or restore a full account from a ZIP backup.

Credit Cost

Importing data costs credits, just like creating entries manually:

Data TypeCredit Cost
Asset or Debt3 credits
Value Entry1 credit
Cash Flow Entry2 credits

Collections and tags are free to import.

Validation Before Import

Every import goes through two steps:

  1. Validate - Check file format, detect conflicts, calculate credit cost
  2. Process - Create the data (only if validation passes and you have enough credits)

This ensures you always know what will happen before committing.

Single Asset Import

Import values or cash flows directly into an existing asset or debt.

Smart Conflict Handling

  • Values: Skipped if a value with the same date and currency already exists
  • Cash flows: Exact duplicates (same date, type, value, currency) are automatically skipped

Full Account Import

Restore from a full export ZIP file or import data from another source. The import uses the same ZIP format as the full export.

Smart Merging

  • Collections and tags are matched by name and type - existing ones are reused, only new ones are created
  • Assets and debts are checked for conflicts (same label + collection + type prevents duplicate imports)

Download Templates

Not sure about the format? Download example CSV templates from within the app. Templates show you exactly what columns are needed and the expected format.

Common Questions

Can I import from Excel?

Yes - save your Excel file as CSV first (File → Save As → CSV UTF-8).

What if I don’t have enough credits?

The validation step shows the credit cost upfront. Purchase more credits before processing if needed.

Will importing create duplicates?

The system detects and skips exact duplicates for cash flows. For values, conflicts (same date + currency) are flagged during validation.

Can I undo an import?

There’s no automatic undo, but you can delete imported entries manually. Deleting entries refunds credits based on their age (100% within 30 days, 50% after).
